All sorts of stuff
There’s been LOADS going on recently, and I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to update this blog, so apologies to regular readers; I’ll try to keep up with it in future.
I’ve been making lots of dubstep, getting really into the sounds of Mala, Benga, Breakage and Distance particularly, and the Bluze dubstep sound is beginning to emerge.. I’m finding it a genre much closer to ‘me’, if that makes sense; like I had to speed myself up for drum & bass, even psyche myself up to go in the studio, whereas the dubstep sound sits much more closely with my mood, and gives me a freedom to be as hard or as deep or as chilled as I want, and the music seems to just flow from me.
I’m currently working on a remix for Roedelius and Barking Green Records, which is going nicely, and am putting together my latest set of tunes for a promotional album for my trip to Miami WMC 2009, which I’m really looking forward to.
I’m also at the start of talks about some exciting live shows in the summer – can’t say more at the moment, but it’ll be really good if it works out.
Lastly, my old crew First Down have been doing stuff down in Brighton, a wicked mix of loads of our old tunes, many remixed and revamped with new addition ‘Assembly Worker’, along with some new tracks too – I’ve produced a tune especially for the mix; head to http://www.myspace.com/firstdowncrew for a sneak preview, before it’s available in CD format in the near future – more about that another time.
Exciting times in Bluze world.
