Barely Legal Beats – Dead Space EP

Barely Legal Beats debut on Altosync today with their Dead Space EP. It’s a apocalyptic collection of dark dubstep soundscapes and tearing bass, just what you need to give you that mid-week adrenaline shot that Wednesday requires… If Caspa and Rusko had a laser battle on Judgement day, it would probably sound like this.
Sweet. Out today.

Mount Kimbie – Live at Primavera Club 2010

http://redbullmusicacademyradio.com/shows/3473/
Weirdly, I didn’t warm right away to Mount Kimbie’s ‘Crooks & Lovers’ LP when I heard it back in the summer. It sounded to me a little too disjointed, like those dischordant electronica/glitch hop tracks that are all over the net at the moment.
Maybe I needed to evolve a little, as this live set, performed on the Main Stage for RBMA, it just brilliant, and is making me realise I need to give Crooks another chance.
Beautifully deep future garage, mixed with the kind of sound stuttering and echo malarky that you only really get to hear when crews let their hair down when they’re playing live.
Follow the link above, and check out their set in full, it’s just fantastic.
